Velodays was born in 2009, based in Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland. The business was founded by Neil Innes, a passionate cyclist whose career in tourism development had included spells working for VisitScotland and Scottish Enterprise
At the start all we really knew was that there was a growing interest in cycling and that seemed sure to throw up some opportunities. We just weren’t sure what they were at that time.
The early years featured a few packaged trips, supported rides and small events. We started running an event called Ride the North in 2011 and that quickly grew to become a significant part of our year.
In recent years we have run trips to France, Italy, Belgium and more. These days most of our trips are not packaged holidays, but provision of luggage transport and support services along a shared route. Booking sites make it pretty easy to book your own accommodation and we’re happy to let you do that without paying a middle man!
